Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

1. Introduction

SnapAPI ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our screenshot API service, website, and dashboard (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account information

You sign in with a Google account. We receive from Google:

  • Your name and email address

API keys you create are stored only in hashed form — the full key is shown to you once at creation and cannot be recovered by us.

2.2 Payment information

Subscriptions and payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not receive or store your card number or full payment details. We keep records of your subscription status and billing history for account management.

2.3 Usage data

When you use the API, we automatically collect:

  • API request timestamps, status codes, and response times
  • Credits consumed per request
  • Your IP address

This data is shown to you in the dashboard and is used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2.4 Screenshot data

To provide the Service, we process the URLs and capture options you submit. Generated screenshots are stored under random keys that do not identify you or the target page, and are delivered through temporary links that expire after 15 minutes. The stored files are automatically deleted by a scheduled cleanup shortly after the link expires (typically within one hour). We do not inspect the content of the pages you capture, except for automated content-safety filtering applied to requested URLs.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • To authenticate your account and API requests
  • To process subscriptions and track credit usage
  • To prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Information Sharing

We may share information only in the following cases:

  • Service providers: third parties that help operate the Service — for example, payment processing, file storage and hosting, and the Google sign-in provider. They process data only to provide their services to us.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Service and its users.
  • Business transfer: in connection with a transfer of the Service (such as an acquisition), with notice and protection under this policy.
  • With your consent: when you explicitly ask us to share information.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all traffic
  • API keys stored only as hashes
  • Screenshots delivered through expiring, signed links rather than public URLs

No method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data: retained while your account is active; deleted when your account is deleted, except where retention is legally required.
  • Usage logs: retained for a limited period for debugging, abuse prevention, and usage tracking.
  • Screenshots: temporary files automatically deleted shortly after the 15-minute delivery link expires.
  • Billing records: retained as long as legally required for financial record-keeping.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and deletion of your account. The Service is operated by an individual developer; to exercise these rights, use the merchant contact option included in your payment order receipt. We will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact

The Service is operated by an individual developer. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, use the merchant contact option included in your payment order receipt.
